Privacy Policy

This policy explains what PRISTAZ collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

PRISTAZ is a marketplace for vehicle detailing in Australia. Customers post jobs, detailers bid on them, and both sides review each other afterwards. PRISTAZ operates the platform. We are not a party to the detailing work itself, which is performed by the detailer.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we collect your first name, email address, suburb and postcode, and your mobile number if you choose to give it. We also record whether you registered as a customer or as a detailer.

If you use the app, we collect what is needed to run a job: your contact details, the job description, the vehicle details including registration, photographs of the vehicle taken before and after work, the location the work is to happen, messages between you and the other party, bids and prices, and the reviews both sides leave.

Location. The app uses location to match jobs to detailers who cover that area and to estimate travel. On a mobile device you choose whether to grant that permission, and you can withdraw it in your device settings at any time.

Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered directly with Stripe and PRISTAZ never receives or stores them. We receive a record that a payment succeeded or failed, and the amount.

Technical information. Standard server logs, including IP address, device type and timestamps, used for security, fraud prevention and diagnosing faults.

We do not collect government identifiers, and we do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it.

Why we collect it

To create and run your account, to match jobs with detailers, to take payment and pay detailers, to operate the review and dispute system, to notify you when PRISTAZ opens in your area, to prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

The photo record exists so that a disagreement about the condition of a vehicle can be settled on evidence rather than memory. It is visible to the customer and the detailer on that job, and to us if a dispute is raised.

Who it is shared with

The other party to your job. A detailer who bids sees what they need to quote and do the work. A customer sees the detailer's business name, rating and job history. Full contact details are exchanged once a job is accepted.

Service providers who run parts of the platform on our behalf. These currently include Stripe for payments, GoHighLevel for customer records and messaging, Google and Apple for app distribution and push notifications, and our hosting and email providers. They may process your information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Nobody else. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, or to protect somebody's safety.

Messages you receive

If you join the waitlist we will message you when PRISTAZ opens in your area. If you use the app we send messages about your jobs, such as a bid arriving or a job being confirmed, and reminders to leave a review.

Every marketing message has an unsubscribe, and you can reply STOP to any text message. Messages that relate to a job you are part of are operational rather than marketing, so they continue while that job is live.

How long we keep it

Waitlist records are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until we decide not to open in your area. Job records, including the photo report and reviews, are kept while your account is open and for seven years after a job, because they are financial records and because they are the evidence behind a review.

If you close your account we delete or de-identify what we are not required to keep. A review you left stays visible, with your name removed.

How it is protected

Information is held on servers protected by encryption in transit, access controls and authentication. Only people who need access to run the platform have it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every possibility, but if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a permission such as location or messaging.

Email hello@pristaz.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

PRISTAZ is not intended for people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and the date at the top will change with it. If a change materially affects you we will tell you directly rather than relying on you checking this page.

PRISTAZ operates in Australia and this policy is written to Australian law. We do not target the European Union and do not currently offer the service there.
